How do I enable and play

Mods can not be started without doing something, so you need to take a few steps in order to let them work in-game. Be sure you ONLY try this on PC! Consoles are unable to use mods! (at least so far)

Fallout 3 - File Location

Make sure your Fallout 3 is installed at:

C:\Fallout 3

After verifying this, copy/paste your mod files in the "Data" folder. This ensures you can enable it in the splash screen. (or FoMM if you have that). Next proceed to "Enable Files" to finish up.

Fallout New Vegas - File Location

Go to (can differ on your pc):

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\fallout new vegas\Data

Paste your mod files in the folder "Data". This ensures you can enable it in the splash screen. (or FoMM if you have that). Next proceed to "Enable Files" to finish up.

Enable Files

Now start up your Fallout Splashscreen and click button "Data", this opens a new window. This is a list of what files you can enable/disable for Fallout. This however does NOT do anything if it is loose files such as textures.

Now look on the top of this list, you will notice that files with .ESM are on top. These are main files, they ALWAYS go first. Without these you can not load Fallout. Both the vanilla game as all DLC's are .ESM files.

Mod's that have a .ESM file will go AFTER the DLC files. Mods with .ESP will go AFTER any .ESM file. These are just adding something and can not be used as primary files.

Now check the mod you like to enable and press Ok. Now it is enabled in-game, you can now enter the game and find this mod where ever it may be in-world.
